Senior Portrait Windward Oahu

What a fun senior portrait session! I met Colson for the start of his session on a cliff overlooking the Windward side of Oahu and from there we embarked on an unforgettable adventure. Full of excitement, we set out to explore the mesmerizing lava rock cliffs, white sand beaches, and swaying palm trees that adorned the Hawaiian landscape.

The wind was tearing along the cliffs, doing some work to his curly blond hair but as we trekked over the rugged terrain, he marveled at the raw power and beauty of the lava rock cliffs. The dark, jagged formations stood as a testament to the island’s fiery origins.

Eager to experience the epic beauty of Hawaii’s beaches, we made our way down to our next location. As he approached the shoreline, he was stoked about the awesome landscape before him: waves crashing against black lava rocks, a stretch of pristine white sand in the distance and water that shimmered under the warm Hawaiian sun.

After climbing over the rocky coastline and splashing in the wild shallow water on the beach we headed to a final location beneath the green swaying palm trees that lined another beach further down the coast. Their graceful fronds danced in the ocean breeze, providing a cool respite from the tropical heat. Colson sat on the grass beneath the palms allowed himself to relax and take in the tranquil ambiance.

As the sun began to set, painting the sky in vibrant hues of orange and pink, we ended our adventure walking along a narrow strip of beach to a rock wall leading out into the ocean. With the sun setting behind Diamond Head in the distance, he reflected on the day’s experiences, cherishing the memories we had captured amidst the lava rock cliffs, white sand beach, and palm trees of Hawaii.

Family Portrait on an Aulani Vacation

As the sun begins its descent towards the horizon, casting a warm golden glow over the sandy beach, a family of six gathers excitedly at the water’s edge. The gentle breeze carries the salty scent of the ocean, and the sound of crashing waves creates a soothing backdrop. With bare feet sinking into the soft sand, they explore the shoreline, feeling the cool water lap against their toes.

As the vibrant hues of pink, orange, and purple paint the sky, they snuggle together. Laughter and friendly competition fill the air as they run circles around mom and dad, enjoying the thrill of the games we come up with to play amidst the stunning sunset backdrop. The golden light casts a magical aura over the beach, creating a picturesque scene that feels straight out of a storybook.

After an energetic round of chase the family strolls along the shoreline. As the waves gently caress the sand, the kids point out crabs climbing the rocks and search for pretty rocks and seashells in the tide pools.

With the setting sun casting a warm glow over the beach, they can’t resist the temptation to dip their toes into the water. Hand in hand, they wade into the ocean, the cool waves splashing against their legs. The reflection of the sun on the water creates a shimmering path, guiding their playful footsteps.

As the sky transitions into a palette of deep blues and purples, they gather for a moment of tranquility. Holding hands, they watch as the sun sinks below the horizon, casting a final burst of vibrant colors across the sky.

With hearts full of cherished memories, we head back up the path, feeling the warmth of the day and the magic of the beach lingering in our souls. I treasure these moments and let them serve as a reminder of the special bond I get to share with every family I have the pleasure to photograph, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Kahala Morning Family Photo Session

The sun shines warmly over the sandy beach as I join mom and dad and their two little girls beneath a cluster of swaying palm trees in Hawaii. The turquoise waters of the ocean beckon, and the girls excitedly twirl in their pink, flowy dresses. I suggest playing hide and seek among the palm trees, their laughter filling the air with joy.

With a mischievous smile, I count to ten, covering my eyes with one hand, camera held in the other, while the girls scamper away to find their hiding spots. I scan the area, searching for any signs of movement among the palm trees.

Peeking behind the palm fronds, I hear muffled giggles carried by the wind. With careful steps, I wander through the tropical oasis, admiring the play of sunlight through the swaying leaves. I spot a flash of color disappearing behind a thick trunk, a rustle and a giggle behind the palms.

“Found you!” I exclaim. The little girls burst into laughter, their dress twirling around as they playfully try to evade me. We dart in and out of the palm fronds, the girls laughing and me snapping photo after photo, reveling in the beauty of the Hawaiian scenery. Their dresses swirl around them as they navigate the twists and turns of the trees, their imaginations carrying them to magical places.

After several exhilarating rounds of hide and seek, I ask if anyone wants to go for a swim. The reaction is a resounding and exuberant YES! (including jumping for joy and squeals of delight). The family of four hold hands and traipse down towards the water’s edge. With a splash, we plunge into the refreshing water, the little girls’ laughter merging with the sound of water gently lapping the shore.

We spend the rest of our photo time splashing, playing, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. Once everyone is thoroughly soaked, cheeks hurting from laughter, we make our way to shore to say our goodbyes, clothing damp but hearts full of joy.

Playing hide and seek in the palm trees and splashing in the ocean with this adorable family in Hawaii was a magical experience, combining the beauty of nature, the joy of discovery, and the enchantment of childhood imagination. I cherish these moments and the joy that comes from creating lasting memories that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Family Portrait Session at Kaaawa and Kualoa

This fun family wanted a photo session under the epic green tropical mountains of Hawaii, what a wonderful idea! Hawaii offers breathtaking landscapes and lush greenery that provide a stunning backdrop for your family photos and this location on the East side of Oahu delivers!

In this gorgeous place we were surrounded by Hawaii’s majestic mountains, you find yourselves surrounded by vibrant green peaks stretching as far as the eye can see. Every angle is more beautiful than the last. The air is filled with a refreshing tropical breeze, carrying the scent of exotic flowers and hinting at the nearby ocean. You can’t help but feel a sense of tranquility and awe in this natural paradise.

We started on a beach with palm trees and an epic mountain background, then we took a short drive to Kualoa Ranch area to climb trees and frolic through green grass under the vibrant and awesome Koolau mountains, another quick drive around the corner to a spot overlooking Kaneohe Bay and one of the most epic windward sunsets I have ever seen.

I captured breathtaking portraits of each member of the family against the backdrop of the setting sun. Laughter filled the air, as they shared stories and jokes, creating genuine smiles that will be cherished for years to come.

As the photo session drew to a close, they gathered as a family one last time, jumping joyfully, facing the magnificent sunset and mountains. I captured this final shot, encapsulating the love and happiness that radiates from the family.

Leaving the photo session, we carry with us not only beautiful photographs but also cherished memories of time spent together in the enchanting embrace of Hawaii’s epic green mountains, tropical beaches and an amazing sunset.

Maternity Session at Wawamalu Beach, Oahu

In the vibrant setting of a rocky coastline on Oahu, a loving family embarked on a breathtaking maternity session to celebrate the imminent arrival of a new member. Mom, Dad, and their energetic little boy, filled with excitement and anticipation, gathered at the water’s edge.

The mother, dressed in a fabulous flowing orange gown that accentuated her radiant glow, stood proudly beside her partner, whose eyes gleamed with love and adoration. Their son, brimming with curiosity and enthusiasm, was eager to take part in the photo session, his eyes filled with wonder for his soon-to-arrive sibling.

The gentle ocean breeze tousled their hair as they began to explore the beach together. I followed along framing the family against the backdrop of the azure sea, lava rock dotted coastline and golden sand.

As they strolled along the shoreline, the father held his son’s hand, guiding him through the soft sand, while the mother cradled her blossoming belly. Laughter filled the air as the family shared joyous moments, watching the surf spray and collecting seashells. The little boy’s excitement was contagious, as he eagerly whispered secrets to his sibling-to-be, his tiny hand resting on his mother’s belly.

They stood together against the backdrop of crashing waves, their faces illuminated by the warm Hawaiian sun. The mother’s gentle smile spoke of her deep connection to her unborn child.
